North London residential development benefits from Mayor’s discount scheme
Situated in one of North London’s best-connected areas, Rookery Grove offers a new collection of 38 London Living Rent (LLR) homes, with monthly rents roughly 40 per cent lower than the average in the borough.
L&Q is launching a broad range of modern homes, from studios as well as one and two-bedroom apartments, with the new development “combining the best of urban living with city connections”.
Andrea Palmer, head of LLR at L&Q, commented: “London Living Rent makes saving while renting a real possibility in the capital, bringing home ownership even closer for many who felt that buying in London was out of their reach financially.
“We’ve seen huge interest in our recent developments launching in Barking & Dagenham and Croydon, and with a great array of local amenities and high-quality homes coupled with fantastic transport connections, we’re confident Rookery Grove will hold a similar appeal.”
Funded by the Mayor of London, London Living Rent is a Government-backed scheme which enables tenants to rent a home at a discounted rate, sometimes up to as much as 50 per cent less than a similar property on the open market.
Residents moving to Rookery Grove are set to benefit from “vast” investment into the local area. The development is situated within the Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme, one of the biggest regeneration projects in Europe, which will see 150 retail stores, 50 restaurants, cinema and hotel delivered nearby alongside new residential quarters.
L&Q’s homes are set back behind a new landscaped piazza, which is home to the Hendon Hub and offers a number of commercial spaces.
Homes at Rookery Grove are contemporary in style, with large living areas and an “impressive” specification. Open-plan kitchen/ living/ dining rooms have been designed with ‘modern living’ in mind, allowing flexibility and tenants to use the space for both working from home requirements and entertaining.
The homes comply with the latest environmental standards which includes floor heating, energy efficient LED lighting, and excellent sound insulation. Meeting the ever-increasing demand for outdoor space, each apartment comes with a private balcony.
A major draw of the area, Rookery Grove benefits from excellent transport links including two Northern line stations, Hendon Central and Colindale both within walking distance.
Meanwhile, nearby Hendon Railway Station offers ThamesLink services with speedy journeys into Central London as well as to Luton and Gatwick Airports, putting both nights out in the capital and city breaks further afield within reach.
