Dorset housebuilders proudly support another successful Swanage Carnival

Barratt and David Wilson Homes were pleased to support another successful Swanage Carnival which returned to the town from 29th July to 5th August.

The leading Dorset housebuilder, which is currently building new homes across the county, including at its Compass Point development in Swanage, has supported the time-long traditional family fun event for the past two years since its return from Covid-19.

This year’s theme was “Under the Sea” for the designated “Year of the Coast” – perfect for Swanage’s idyllic seaside location.

And the free-to-attend family festival had more cause for celebration as it made its first full return since the pandemic – and it has been better than ever!

Over the jam-packed eight days, residents and visitors to Swanage enjoyed highlights such as the Carnival procession, Wacky Races, firework displays, food demonstrations, beer pong, a dog show, and much more – there was something for everyone!

Carnival spokesperson, Kevin Langdon, said: “Like many events, we had to put the Carnival on hold for two years – the last cancellation was in World War II! It meant we took a massive hit financially. We made a big return last year, but this year, we really saw the Carnival come back to life as it was before – and it was so great to see.

“But the Carnival simply cannot happen without the generosity of local people and sponsors like Barratt and David Wilson Homes – we’d like to thank them so much for their support!”
