Leeds innovation and marketing agency host knowledge sharing event

Industry leaders are invited to discover how to unlock creative thinking in their staff. A free online knowledge share is being delivered by innovation specialists, Mark Davies and Tina Catling, founders of the Leeds Innovation and Marketing agency, ThinkOTB.

The event is hosted by the Infrastructure Industry Innovation Partnership (i3P), a community that aims to drive the future of the UK infrastructure industry through collective innovation.

Jo Sheward, programme manager for i3P, said: “The challenge for i3P, and the UK generally, is to turn all the great innovative ideas that exist into reality and at a scale where everyone benefits, using the skills and experience out there to help make innovation happen.

“Unlocking creativity is key and ThinkOTB have an enviable track record, particularly in the energy sector, advising complex organisations on how to do this.”

ThinkOTB has used this bespoke approach for some of the biggest organisations in Europe, including Arup, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Sellafield, Siemens Energy, Welsh Water, Reuters, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and Google.

Tina Catling is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a corporate psychologist. Mark Davies is a specialist in embedding innovation into large complex organisations. The pair are co-authors of two seminal bestselling business books on the importance of creativity and innovation: Think! published in 2002, and Making Waves, published in 2011.

Mark Davies said: “Businesses are ultimately about people, and helping those people to collaborate, think through new ideas, and adapt ideas to create meaningful change should be at the heart of critical industries, including transport, energy, and construction. If we are to find solutions to the climate emergency, while keeping the lights on, we need new ways of thinking.”

i3P is a community of organisations working in the infrastructure and construction sector which began life in 2012 as Innovate18 the Crossrail Innovation Programme. In 2016 i3P was created and now boasts a community of industry experts who are committed to developing and adopting proven innovations across the sector.

The one-hour knowledge share, which consists of a 30-minute presentation followed by 30-minute Q&A, aims to be fun, interactive, and inspiring, sharing the principles of facilitation for innovation, along with top tricks, tips and proven tools and techniques that ThinkOTB has developed and applied over the last 30 years.
