British restaurateur announces new champagne bar in Battersea Power Station
British restaurateur Searcys is set to open a new champagne bar in the heart of Battersea Power Station this October.
Following on from the success of its vintage Rolls Royce Champagne Coupé pop-up, the Searcys Champagne Bar will be located on Level 1 in the Power Station’s Art Deco Turbine Hall A, next to the Food Arcade and Lift 109, serving an extensive list of champagne and English sparkling wine, paired with small bites and seafood platters.
Opening on Wednesday October 18, the 76-cover bar and dining space will feature a mix of plush, deep blue velvet seating with polished brass detailing, a 15-cover marble-topped bar and a semi-private recessed booth, available to book for up to 10 guests.
Bright and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows, the Champagne bar walls will be adorned with three bespoke pieces of art by celebrated artist, Kristjana Williams, specially commissioned by Searcys to capture the London landscape with the company’s signature twist.
Experts in champagne, the spotlight will be on Searcys’ extensive selection of champagne and English sparkling wine, with brass ‘Press for Champagne’ buzzers at each table, inspired by the original buzzers at sister site, Searcys Champagne Bar at St Pancras International, opened over 14 years ago.
On the menu will be a seasonal selection of fresh seafood, including a signature shellfish platter, along cured meats and light and healthy salad options.
Searcys’ managing director, Paul Jackson, commented: “We are excited to be expanding south of the river to launch within the fantastic retail and gastronomic hub at Battersea Power Station.
“We are pleased to be taking the next step with a permanent site in the Turbine Hall. As connoisseurs of champagne since 1847, we want to create an experience which showcases our hand-picked selection for our guests to enjoy.”
The latest addition to the Searcys family, the Searcys Champagne Bar is set to open its doors on Wednesday October 18, joining the company’s collection of bars, including Searcys at the Gherkin, Europe’s longest Champagne Bar at St Pancras and The Champagne Bar at 116 Pall Mall.
