Audio visual specialist upgrades ‘world-leading’ innovation, science and data hub
The BRE Group Science Park, based in Watford, is an ‘impressive’ hub home to ‘world-leading’ innovation, science and data.
Designed to contribute to a ‘thriving and sustainable world’ by developing science-led solutions to built environment challenges, the site boasts ‘state-of-the-art’ facilities including a lecture theatre space and meeting rooms.
BRE Group’s outsourced IT company Central Computers reached out to Bradford headquartered audio-visual service provider Universal AV to collaborate on solutions for the hub’s re-engineered lecture theatre and meeting room spaces.
The brief was to roll out the use of audio-visual technology across BRE’s lecture theatre and meeting room space, in two phases. The group wanted advice on how best to achieve world-class connection both internally and externally, encompassing video conferencing and wireless sharing throughout their space.
Universal AV provided concepts for an LED wall with audio and various wireless solutions, with BRE choosing a combination of a LED wall and Sony TEOS workplace management system to encompass wireless sharing, video conferencing, screen monitoring, network connectivity and digital signage capabilities.
The team at Universal AV worked alongside the team leads at BRE to quickly complete installation within a week, ahead of the first conference due to take place in the newly renovated space. This process included the full installation and testing process, as well as training for BRE staff.
Will Adamson, BRE IT & Estates project manager, commented: “BRE has a very long history in building innovation, but its technology has not followed the trend of the business, so we began a program of works to update the science park with up-to-date AV.
“Our third-party IT supplier, Central Computers, recommended Universal AV as the main supplier and installer for the program. Over the past 18 months, the relationship Universal AV has built with BRE has been outstanding, to the point that they are always on hand to support and maintain any issue that we have.”
Due to the success of the two-phase project, Universal AV have now been invited to continue working with BRE Group for phase four.
Will continued: “For phase four, which is the complete overhaul of our conference suite, using the same method and technology that was used in the lecture theatre, BRE will continue to work with Universal AV as our lead AV solutions provider.”
