Digital marketing masterclass supports local restaurant with 'Power Hour'

The business behind a series of digital marketing masterclasses is handing one of its neighbours in Hull’s Old Town a pizza the action as it prepares to welcome another full house.

43 Clicks North is spending some dough with Bert’s Pizzeria to provide a free feed for guests attending the eighth edition of Power Hour, which takes place at Social in Humber Street, Hull on Friday 6 October.

Mike Ellis, managing director of 43 Clicks North, said: “The fact that we’re nearly at capacity yet again, with over a hundred people booked in, shows the hunger among businesses in all sectors to keep up with what’s happening in digital marketing.

“The special delivery which we’ve ordered from Bert’s is a bonus. It fits with our ethos of supporting other Hull-based businesses whenever we can, and it gives people an added incentive to hang around after the formalities, have a drink, eat some pizza and ease themselves into the weekend!”

Alisha Jackson, restaurant manager at Bert’s Pizzeria in Queen Street, Hull, said: “We are supplying a range of pizzas for the event. It’s a substantial order, especially for a lunchtime, and they are always welcome!

“It’s also great that we are working with neighbouring businesses with 43 Clicks North just round the corner and Social across the road. We supply meetings and other events at neighbouring businesses but not often on this scale.”

Power Hour was launched by 43 Clicks North as a post-pandemic initiative to put top tech talent from East Yorkshire alongside some of the key players from bigger cities. All seven sessions have taken place at Social, with interest snowballing among people who work in digital marketing and also attracting the businesses they serve.

Friday’s event will open at 12.30pm with experts from Leeds, London and Hull taking to the stage for an hour at 1.15pm to discuss conversion rate optimisation (CRO) with industry colleagues and clients eager to enhance the user experience on websites to improve business performance.

The line-up will feature Jonny Longden, director of digital experience at Leeds-based agency Journey Further, Matt Scaysbrook, director of optimisation at WeTeachCRO in Egham, and Andy Lowden, strategy director at 43 Clicks North.

Mike said: “All the speakers are experts in their field and the guests are people I have admired for a long time. The insights they can give will benefit businesses of all sizes and we know from previous editions of Power Hour that members of the audience learn from each other and are helping to strengthen the digital capability in our own business community.”
