Popular Youtube group, The Sidemen set to open first high street location in London

After the success of their locations across London, a Sides restaurant is set to have its own space in the heart of Dalston, signing a 15/20 year lease with the establishment due to open to the public on Thursday 26th of October.

The 2000 square foot space is set to be the first of its kind in the United Kingdom, serving up all of the classic Sides menu items that have been available in their Boxpark and Harrow locations.

The new opening marks an exciting new chapter after the use of dark kitchens showed that there was huge demand for Sides across the country through food delivery apps, while the Dalston location looks to offer a slice of creator culture with a greater sense of community.

The Dalston branch of sides will seat approximately 40 covers, as well as creating 30 jobs for the local area. Dalston is a thriving part of East London that has become synonymous with the capital’s food scene. Sides want to become a mainstay in Dalston, offering freshly fried chicken in a variety of flavours and seven house sauces that offer something different to their competitors.

The Sidemen are among the most high-profile internet personalities in the United Kingdom and internationally since starting in 2013, boasting more than 130m combined subscribers on YouTube and millions more followers across their various social media channels.

Owing to this, the restaurant business has already amassed a huge following on social media, with their social media posts registering up to 40 times the engagement than their closest competitors.

Speaking on the opening of the first highstreet location, Robin Mehta, Sides CEO, states; “Opening the Dalston location will be a proud moment for all of us. As Sides continues to grow we are really proud of all the effort that has gone into the space, the menu, and the food itself.

“The Sidemen are doing things properly and there’s no doubt this is a brand putting food quality right at the heart of the offering. Freshly cooked chicken, double coated, crispy and full of flavour - this is properly good food, prepared with care. People will come in for the hype, but they’ll come back for the food.”

With multiple successes beyond YouTube, including the likes of XIX Vodka, SDMN Clothing, and other independent ventures, The Sidemen look set to have found their feet in the restaurant space, with the Dalston location representing an exciting new opportunity for the entrepreneurial creators.
