Pizza Pilgrims signs new lease in Leeds' "emerging food oasis"
Property investors Karrev and Kinrise have agreed a new lease with independent restaurant, Pizza Pilgrims, at Ambler House, 2-3 Trevelyan Square, Leeds. Pizza Pilgrims will join existing tenants Things in Bread and Doh’hut in this newly emerging ‘food oasis’ for the city.
Pizza Pilgrims’ new 15 year lease spans 2,379 sq.ft. of space across the ground and basement floors (88 covers) and will be the firm’s 5th restaurant outside of London. Local agency Pudney Shuttleworth advised on the deal, with the pizzeria set to open to the public on 14th November.
Ambler House forms part of Karrev & Kinrise’s 73,500 sq.ft. portfolio across Trevelyan Square. Their commitment to creating a new thriving community destination recently saw the landmark signing of 1 Trevelyan Square to Leeds Trinity University, with the space open to students for the first time in the 2024/25 academic year.
The duo’s dedication to upgrading and enhancing 3.5 acres of the city centre will include landscaping of the public square for the benefit of tenants and visitors.
Kinrise co-founder George Aberdeen, comments: “We are delighted to sign a new F&B operator at Ambler House, which will be a great addition to Trevelyan Square and the city. Community is at the heart of all our buildings, which is why we have carefully curated this selection of independent F&B operators, to provide new spaces for local businesses, students and visitors to meet and unwind.
“We are excited to welcome Pizza Pilgrims to Ambler House in November and look forward to seeing our tenants and the local neighbourhood enjoy its delicious menu, as we bring this once neglected square back to life. We are proud to play our part in revitalising this area of the city, with the development of Ambler House, as future-fit work and social spaces.”
Pizza Pilgrims founder, Thom Elliot, adds; “We are really excited to be coming to the fantastic city of Leeds. We have spent a lot of time here both at university, and also over the last few years looking for the perfect site to continue the pilgrimage.
“We have been looking for a way to work with Kinrise for a number of years - and this site by Trevelyan Square is a great corner, perfect for our joyful take on Neapolitan pizza. We’re looking forward to the redevelopment of the square and fun summer pop ups once the sun comes out!”
