New tech-driven flexible workspace to launch in 'prime' Newcastle city centre location

Wizu Workspace, a ‘pioneer’ in providing inspiring and flexible workspaces across Northern England, has announced the launch of its newest location, Portland House, in the heart of central Newcastle.

This marks the company’s 10th site and a significant milestone in its ongoing growth and expansion plan, having already established a substantial presence with over 250,000 square feet of workspace.

Portland House boasts an impressive 60,000 sq ft of space, with a mixture of traditional office lets and flexible workspace and has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate a diverse range of businesses, from dynamic one-person startups to established corporate requiring over one hundred workstations.

It has been developed by landlords Oliver Holland and James Keegan, who have now partnered with Wizu to deliver the new flex space. The offering will provide a comprehensive suite of workspace solutions, including co-working areas, private offices, and state-of-the-art meeting rooms.

The space will also feature an innovative tech platform, providing seamless access control, meeting room bookings, plus high-end video conferencing facilities and iPad-controlled coffee machines, ensuring members have access to the latest in workplace technology.

Tom Almas, CEO of Wizu Workspace, commented: “We recognised that the demand for serviced offices in Newcastle has consistently outpaced supply, owing to the lack of high-quality flexible workspace.

“We chose this stunning new location as it embodies our signature style, beautifully restored and modernised heritage architecture in a prime location.

“As businesses continue to adapt to the new demands of hybrid working, Portland House serves as a compelling tool for attracting employees back to the office. It provides an inspiring and collaborative environment, complemented by top-notch onsite amenities.”

Portland House is set to launch in November 2023, and the space is already 20 per cent pre-let, reflecting the strong demand for high-quality flexible workspaces in Newcastle.
