‘Restart Croydon’ event sets out to explore a new vision for the local area

Titled ‘Restart Croydon’, the 2023 event will bring together investors, developers, policymakers, built environment consultants, and business leaders to explore a new vision for Croydon that will reposition the borough as a hub of innovation and investment and showcase exciting initiatives underway, including the town centre masterplan.

The programme for the event will include, keynote speeches from Executive Mayor of Croydon, Jason Perry and Shonagh Manson, the Greater London Authority’s Assistant Director of Culture and Creative Industries. Various key stakeholders, representatives of local government, and private sector companies will also be part of the panel discussions.

At the Conference, we will delve into developments in Croydon’s growth sectors, explore how the borough is adapting to changes in the way people live, work, and play and discuss how Croydon is aiming to create a sustainable, resilient, and equitable community.

The Conference is being held in partnership with Croydon Council, London Gatwick, Ruskin Square, Schroders Capital and Stanhope. Associate and supporting partners include Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), GLi, SHW, KSP and Patrizia.

It will be held in a pop-up conference venue on the top floor of Centrale Shopping Centre, which forms part of the 10-hectare town centre land parcel that URW took full ownership of in April 2023.

Panel discussions during the day will include build-to-rent and alternative living development in Croydon, the question of repurposing or rebuilding commercial stock, how to preserve community, and the reimagining of the town centre.

In the afternoon, delegates will have the opportunity to join round table workshops focused on the town centre’s future, take an investor tour of the Purley Way to see the scale of industrial and logistics space in Croydon and hear about new opportunities, or visit some of the most recently completed residential developments.

The Conference is expected to attract over 200 delegates. The day represents a unique opportunity to learn about the latest developments in Croydon, network with key decision-makers, and share ideas about the future of the borough.

‘Restart Croydon’ is a must-attend event for anyone with an interest in Croydon’s future, its development opportunities, and the progress Croydon is making toward becoming a more sustainable and inclusive community.
