Mandy Ridyard, West Yorkshire Council

A leading aerospace manufacturing expert has been appointed to the newly created role of Business Advisor to the West Yorkshire Mayor, it can be announced.

Mandy Ridyard, of Bradford-based firm Produmax, will chair a new board of local council and private sector leaders, tasked with driving forward Mayor Tracy Brabin’s pledge to champion the regional economy.

Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said: “Mandy’s appointment as business advisor marks an exciting new chapter in our West Yorkshire story – one where all our businesses are listened to and lifted up to reach their full potential.”

Commenting on her appointment, Mandy Ridyard, Business Advisor to the Mayor of West Yorkshire, said: “I can’t wait to get stuck into this new role, where I’ll draw on the strengths of all our businesses and sectors, offering a listening ear and making sure their voices are heard.”

Cllr James Lewis, Leader of Leeds City Council and Chair of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority Business, Economy and Innovation Committee, said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Mandy Ridyard to her new role as business advisor to the Mayor of West Yorkshire.”

Larner Caleb, Dynamic

Dynamic, the Leeds-based digital learning and communications specialist has welcomed Larner Caleb as Creative Marketing Director. Larner left his post as Creative Director and owner at digital marketing agency, Creode, to join Dynamic.

Dynamic is about to enter its 25th year as one of the UK’s foremost exponents of learning experiences, having worked across a large variety of sectors for a wide number of brands including Sainsbury’s, KPMG, the NHS and Calvin Klein.

Speaking on the move, Larner said, “After working with Dynamic as a client of Creode for a number of years, I’ve been blown away by the level of world-class talent and a team that creates powerful, transformational and in many cases, life-changing work.”

Steve Johnson, MD at Dynamic commented, “The landscape of digital learning and communications is constantly changing with increasingly diverse demands placed on creators. There are some massive opportunities within the industry and particularly for us both in the UK and internationally. Coupled with some really exciting things happening with the Dynamic brand, it’s a great time for Larner to join a fantastic team.”

Tom Donnelly, First Bus

First Bus has appointed Tom Donnelly as Operations Manager for its depot in York. He leads of team of staff managers and supervisors supporting a crew of over 200 drivers and a fleet of more than 80 buses.

Tom joins following two years in the same role at Aircoach, another First Bus business based in Ireland running airport services. His arrival marks a return to the city, where he was previously in the rail sector with Virgin East Coast and roles with other train operators at York station during five years.

He said: “It’s great to be back in York and I’ve joined at an exciting time in the transformation of First Bus and the future of transport in the city. More zero emission buses are gradually entering our fleet since the new-look York Electric vehicles began operating at the end of August and the total conversion of the depot with power charging infrastructure is progressing well.”
