Shield Safety EHP Announced as Finalist for National Honour
Marc Anderson, Environmental Health Practitioner at Shield Safety, the leading UK provider of professional services and software solutions across food safety, health and safety and fire safety, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Best Auditor Award at the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT) Awards 2023.
Since graduating in 2018, Marc has excelled in the industry due to his tenacious nature and is regarded as an integral member of the Shield Safety team. His expertise lies in delivering Safe to Trade audits under Certification Body Shield Safety, to their most complex clients who conduct high-risk processes across various catering, hospitality and retail settings.
When auditing, Marc ensures complete compliance with legislation, and considers guidance and codes of practice that cover food safety, health and safety and fire safety. Additionally, he takes great enjoyment coaching and helping clients of all natures and sizes – ranging from small independent cafés to large hotel chains comprising of leisure facilities, ensuring they can improve their compliance and protect their customers. Marc recently became a Highfield Trainer through the Level 3 Award in Delivering Training, allowing him to provide Food Safety training to Shield Safety’s esteemed clients.
Marc’s competence and approach has also seen him promoted to Regional Environmental Health Practitioner Manager, where he will share his knowledge, skills and behaviours with other colleagues in his team. Significantly, Marc is now embarking on the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health’s Pathway to Registration.
His consistency to deliver high-quality reports in a timely manner has greatly aided Shield Safety, with Marc completing an astonishing 303 individual site audits in the last 12-months alone. 20% of these audits were processed through Shield Safety’s internal Quality Management System via Report Checks, resulting in Marc achieving an outstanding 95% rating of ‘good’ or ‘excellent’.
Commenting on being shortlisted for the Best Auditor Award Marc said: “It is an honour to be shortlisted for the SOFHT Best Auditor Award. This year’s accolades will be presented at the 44th SOFHT Annual Lecture and Lunch on 16 November, at The Brewery, London.
