Relaunch of Bradford’s largest conference centre following £1m hotel investment

Cedar Court Hotel Bradford reopened its doors to guests recently following an extensive £1m six-month refurbishment including a full overhaul of its conference and hotel facilities to create new opportunities and attract visitors to Bradford ahead of it becoming City of Culture in 2025.

The Bradford Business Community are invited to a grand launch event on Wednesday 8 November in celebration of the investment and opportunities being created in the city.

With a capacity of up to 800 guests and easy accessibility from the M62 and city centre, the West Yorkshire Conference and Events Centre is the North’s largest (independent and) purpose-built conference and banqueting venue and is set to be a hub for local and international visitors, attracting a diverse range of events to the city.

The refurbishment includes upgraded and refreshed bedrooms, corridors, lounge and bar areas, restaurant, meeting rooms and a new ground floor coworking space and restaurant. With a tree in the centre to symbolise the Cedar Court brand of strong roots and growth, the new space offers a new place for local professionals to meet, work, collaborate and relax.

The celebration event will take place on 8 November. Bradford business leaders, including Davide Longo, Commercial Director of Bradford City, and Chamber of Commerce Manager, Liz Wood, and will be speaking at the event which will include a ribbon cutting ceremony. Guests will also be invited for an exclusive tour of the new and upgraded facilities.

Sustainability and celebrating the city’s industrial heritage have been at the heart of the renovations, with a £250k investment into solar panels to reduce costs and minimise the hotel’s environmental footprint. The hotel is part of Cedar Court Hotels, which turns over £18m annually and attracts 500,000 visitors to its four hotels across the region.

Whilst more than 10 per cent of all UK independent hotels have closed in the past few years, Cedar Court Hotels Yorkshire has remained stable despite the challenging times and invested £3.2m into its portfolio of properties to ensure it remains a popular choice for both business and leisure visitors.

Wayne Topley, Managing Director, commented: ““We are thrilled to be welcoming guests back to Cedar Court Hotel Bradford after six months of refurbishment and part of our £3.2 million investment across the region.

“We wanted to create light, open and contemporary multi use spaces to support the overall purpose of the hotel which is to bring people together and solidify our role as not just a hotel but as a pivotal business and community hub in the region.

“We know how important it is to work closely with our local community, and we’re excited to be welcoming business leaders and professionals on 8 November to celebrate, network and create new opportunities to work together ahead of the 2025 City of Culture.”
