Oliver Barker, MediaSense

Independent global media advisor, MediaSense, appoints Oliver Barker as Head of Strategic Accountability.

The Head of Strategic Accountability is a new role, designed to ensure MediaSense continues to be at the forefront of delivering future-fit audit solutions to clients looking to evolve the way they measure the productivity of their media investments.

Oliver joins MediaSense from Rufus, the open-architecture agency, dedicated to Amazon, and powered by Initiative (IPG). As Managing Partner, he led investment strategies for both client and agency teams. He has also held senior investment and agency-side trading roles at Magna Global and drove strategic trading at ZenithOptimedia.

Oliver brings over 15+ years of global media industry experience and trading dynamics to MediaSense. Ryan Kangisser, Managing Partner, Strategy at MediaSense on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome back Oliver to this newly created Head of Strategic Accountability role.

Rodney Perry, Making Science

Making Science, a digital acceleration company specialising in e-commerce, cloud and digital transformation, has appointed Rodney Perry as Head of Data and Analytics.

The appointment will further expand Making Science’s data consultancy provision and expertise — its specialist data team currently comprises 60% of the company — to help clients to unlock the true potential of their data and digitally transform their business.

As Head of Data & Analytics, Perry will focus on supporting Making Science’s UK clients, with input on a global level where required. His remit will include building a team of analytics consultants to help clients develop strategies to measure, analyse and activate their data for optimal success. Perry has 15 years of digital and data analytics experience at companies including iCrossing and Media.Monks, where he led and oversaw GA4 implementations.

Based in London, Perry will report to Paula Gomez Anaya, Global Data and Ad Tech Director. Speaking about his appointment, Perry said “I look forward to leading Making Science’s buoyant UK data team, and helping our clients to better understand and integrate their data, to enable their tech stacks and solutions to work harder.”

The appointment follows the release of innovative Making Science products, further bolstering client offerings. Making Science recently launched BrandMax which amplifies the impact of branding campaigns using custom bidding technology based on user value.

Six new hires, Walker Morris

Leading law firm, Walker Morris, has made a run of new hires to strengthen its financial services regulatory expertise, making this specialist practice team one of the largest outside London.

In recent months, the group, led by Jeanette Burgess, has welcomed Russell Kelsall as partner and head of consumer and motor finance, Leanna Bradshaw as director, Sarah Mertes as senior consultant, both Paula Twist and Hasan Siddique as senior associates and Kelly McHugh as a paralegal to the team.

Strong half year results have seen Walker Morris’ regulatory practice onboard over 35 new clients, including a number of high profile and institutional consumer, motor, asset and mortgage finance providers.

Jeanette Burgess, head of the regulatory and compliance group, said: “This strategic approach to grow our team has come from a desire to broaden our specialist market expertise, particularly around motor finance, to become the one-stop shop for retail finance legal support.

“Our team works on some of the biggest regulatory mandates in the UK. These fantastic new hires enable us to offer genuine strength in depth to support the complex and often urgent needs of our growing client base.”

Russell Kelsall, head of the consumer and motor finance team, said: “We’ve now built a large and experienced team of lawyers, with in-house, private practice and regulator experience, uniquely dealing with both non-contentious and contentious matters. Our broad regulatory and contentious experience means we provide market-leading, commercial and practical advice on work typically undertaken by magic circle firms.”
