Adrian Wallace, Tyne Tunnels

The operator of the Tyne Tunnels, TT2, has announced the appointment of a new chief executive officer. Cleveland-born Adrian Wallace, 52, takes up the role to operate the key transport link that forms part of the A19.

Adrian brings a wealth of experience to the organisation, having worked in various, senior positions within the health, education, infrastructure and property sectors in the UK and internationally.

He sees large infrastructure schemes like the Tyne Tunnels as catalysts for regeneration and economic growth. “Now that Tyne Tunnels has successfully transitioned from toll booths to a more modern, free-flow system, I intend to build on these changes, improving methods of payment and cementing our position in the North East infrastructure,” said Adrian.

He added: “I hope to work closer with local community groups and key stakeholders to see how we can play a greater role, offering meaningful social and economic impact.”

Tori Carney, Carney Consultancy

North Tyneside-based, Carney Consultancy, has appointed Tori Carney as administrative assistant.

This follows the recent appointments of Erin Rochford as a trainee health and safety advisor and Lucy Dean as business administrator. Tori, follows in the footsteps of her mother, Angela Carney, managing director at Carney Consultancy, as she looks to make her mark in the construction sector.

The appointment of Tori, is in-line with Angela Carney’s commitment to develop and retain talented young people, Carney Consultancy celebrated success at the Generation for Change (G4C) Awards, held in conjunction with Constructing Excellence in the North East, winning gold in the Commitment to Employee Training and Development – SME category.

Tori, said: “I have grown up around Carney Consultancy. I know the team and it very much has a family feel, which appealed to me.

“In the months ahead, I want to expand my knowledge by getting out on site where, supported by our team of consultants and advisors, I will learn all aspects of health and safety on construction sites. I also want to begin to learn and provide additional support when it comes to SHEQ Management systems, SSIPS and Constructionline applications.”

Greg Paterson, Route

Newcastle-based media agency, Route, has announced the appointment of high-profile media planner Greg Paterson, as Head of Client Planning.

Greg is well respected in the media planning world, with over twenty years’ experience working with major brands on their media strategy, with his past client portfolio including Kellogg’s, HSBC, Vauxhall and Microsoft.

A Geordie by birth, Greg has been lured back to the region to lead client planning at fast-growing and multi award-winning agency Route. Within his new role, Greg, whose previous experience includes time spent at Dentsu, Total Media, Manning Gottlieb OMD, PHD and MediaCom, will be responsible for all client strategy and planning, while also cementing the team’s knowledge and skillset across all media.

Announcing the appointment, co-founder Darren Davidson said: “I’ve known Greg for around 20 years and have kept track of his impressive career, stellar track record and multiple award wins. Having him join us in the North East is a huge coup - in our view there is no-one in the region who can match Greg’s level of experience or capability. We’re thrilled that he recognises the huge opportunity we have here at Route to continue our growth.

“His experience leading on major accounts across multiple, fast-moving sectors, from retail to technology, finance and automotive make him an invaluable addition to our team. As well as supporting the team to deliver exceptional results, Greg’s in-depth industry knowledge and expertise will further develop our understanding of the ever-changing media landscape, ensuring both our team and clients stay ahead of the curve.”
