LCP expands into new build sector with appointment of ‘industry heavyweight’
Following a surge in domestic and overseas demand for luxury new build homes, London buying and investment agency, London Central Portfolio (LCP), has expanded its services into the residential development sector and appointed industry heavyweight Kevin Coughter to head it all up.
Joining LCP as Head of Private Clients, Kevin brings almost 30 years’ industry experience to the team. Previously an Associate Director of New Build Sales at Colliers for the last six years, he was responsible for selling off-plan homes to HNW (high net worth) international buyers.
Working closely with global UHNWs (ultra high net worth) including Private and Family Offices, Kevin’s new role at LCP involves identifying and capitalising on opportunities in the residential new build sector for buy-to-let investors and those sourcing a primary or secondary residence in London.
Having established a highly respected ‘one-stop shop’ for over 30 years offering residential property search, acquisitions, interior design, renovations, lettings and property management, LCP has primarily focused on sought after heritage buildings across Central London.
However, following the pandemic and a notable shift in lifestyle choices, LCP has received a surge in buyer enquiries from around the world seeking contemporary homes with environmental credentials, impeccable interiors and on-site amenities such as wellbeing facilities, 24-hour concierge, meeting rooms and working-from-home spaces.
Buy-to-let investors are also keen to capitalise on this trend, taking advantage of London’s strong rental market. Since officially launching the new build search and acquisition service, Kevin has already established a portfolio of HNW clients.
Kevin commented: “I am delighted to be joining LCP, a highly respected brand within the industry. Their offering is far more all-encompassing than any other buying agent so when the opportunity arose to join the team it was an easy decision to make. The Private Office outlook that the company adopted was another factor in my decision.
“New build homes are attractive to many markets as they are brand new, with better energy efficiency, requiring little maintenance and with excellent amenities and security. It’s not just the overseas market seeking these properties. Domestic buyers, including Next Gen, also see their appeal, especially from a lifestyle perspective.”
Liam Monaghan, Managing Director at LCP, added: “I am thrilled to welcome Kevin to our team. His extensive experience in new build apartments for international HNWIs looking for London property aligns itself well with our commitment to being best in class.”
