Newcastle Eagles announce extended sponsorship with North East micropub
Enigma Tap has extended its multi-year support of the Seriös Group Newcastle Eagles Women’s team by becoming the back of shorts sponsor for the 2023/24 season.
Familiar faces around the Vertu Motors Arena, Enigma Tap’s owners and founders Luke and Abbie Orwin are big supporters of women’s basketball and have been involved with the Eagles’ team since the franchise became part of the club in 2018.
As the women’s franchise celebrates its fifth anniversary as Eagles, the micropub makes it a fourth back-to-back year of sponsorship.
Luke Orwin, Enigma Tap co-founder, commented: “We are delighted to continue our support of the Eagles women’s programme by becoming the back of shorts sponsor for the 2023/24 season.
“The rapid growth of the franchise over the past 12 months combined with continued development of the participation side led by women’s players is exactly why we want to be involved. The club’s vision is one also held by ourselves and it is very clear it is working.”
The Enigma Tap brand takes pride of place on the back of the new look Eagles women’s team’s shorts this season as well as courtside at the Vertu Motors Arena for home games, which have seen growing crowds in recent seasons.
Dan Black, Eagles sales and communications manager, said: “Support for our women’s team both from our amazing fanbase and the North East’s business community is building every year and we are so pleased to have Enigma Tap’s backing once again.
“Luke and Abbie have been integrally involved in helping us develop the programme on and off the court, and we are now starting to see more and more local organisations join the team, which is a very exciting time”.
This Saturday night and across the season, customers from the North Shields venue will take to the stands to show their support for the Eagles who look to build on last campaign’s performance.
Luke added: “Back when we became front of shorts sponsor we always said the goal would be for others to come along and take over from us due to successful growth. It’s testament to the hard work of everyone that has now happened.”
