Begbies Traynor grows Teesside team by almost 60% as record demand continues
The Teesside team of leading rescue and recovery specialist Begbies Traynor has increased its headcount from seven to 11 people over the last six months in response to continuing high levels of demand for its services from SMEs and individuals across the region.
The firm, which provides advice for company directors and individuals experiencing financial difficulties, has seen its workload rise by over 40% from May to October 2023 compared with the same period the previous year.
Headed up by Ian Royle, who was promoted to partner earlier this year, the team was boosted by the appointment of experienced insolvency director Claire Dowson who relocated from Begbies Traynor’s Sheffield office in July, and the promotions of Stephanie Breckon to the role of insolvency manager, and Jessica Barton to senior insolvency administrator. Begbies Traynor is also continuing to develop young talent with the appointment of three newcomers to insolvency, Becky Thorpe, Alice Dixon and Christian Thomas, who all joined the firm this year as trainee insolvency administrators.
Partner Ian Royle comments: “Over the last seven years, Begbies Traynor has established itself in Teesside as a leading name in providing support for businesses and individuals, combining the backing of a nationwide network of offices with an expert team of professionals based here who have a real understanding of the region and provide an outstanding level of service with a local North East touch.
“With many businesses and individuals facing extremely challenging conditions in the midst of the pressure of continuing high interest rates, increasingly both businesses and individuals have been turning to us for professional advice to help them identify and implement solutions to their financial difficulties. We’re fortunate that there is so much talent in the area and we have been able to expand and develop our team as demand for our support has grown.”
Begbies Traynor currently has ten offices and employs around 120 staff in Yorkshire, the Humber and the North East. It offers a full range of professional services including corporate recovery, investigations and risk, forensic accounting advice, corporate finance, property, funding, debt collection and personal insolvency.
