First look revealed inside Leeds Greek restaurant following six-figure investment
The Olive Tree Brasserie Leeds is now open, bringing its modern take on Greek cuisine to the city. The Leeds restaurant will be the fourth Olive Tree joining branches in Lytham, Chester, and Stockton Heath, with the brand planning further expansion across the North.
The new Leeds venue will mark a new iteration of Olive Tree vision, following a £700k investment on South Parade. The interiors are typically modern but the Leeds launch channels a slightly new direction and aims to “transport diners to the perfect Mediterranean destination”.
The venue has offered a first look at the light-drenched interiors, decorated sparingly with downlighting, raw wood, plaster walls, and plentiful foliage. It has been designed with the intention of transforming the traditional South Parade assurance building (previously Stockdale’s) into “something more”.
The food has Greek inspiration at its core, with a focus on sustainability and an extensive range of veggie and vegan options with 40 per cent of its menu being plant-based. It also prioritises local sourcing for its ingredients.
Meze and Main Course items from their A La Carte menu include Mediterranean favourites such as the popular Lamb Kleftico, Moussaka, and Dolmades, but also include lesser-known Greek dishes such as Honey Pastourma (a Greek cured beef sausage).
The bar offers up the perfect mix of traditional and modern drinks and includes a number of Greek beers, coffee, and rare spirits such as Mastiha.
The team has crafted a bespoke cocktail menu which includes the Mastiha Mojito (a spirit created from the resin of an evergreen Greek tree), the Olive Tree Espressotini (featuring the warming nuttiness of hazelnut liqueur), and the Cranberry & Clementine Sangria (the Spanish classic, given a Greek twist).
Executive chef Aaron Thomas commented: “We’re so excited to open this week, it’s been a longtime coming with planning and fantastic to see our vision come to life.
“The restaurant itself is beautiful, we’ve created the perfect setting for guests to enjoy our wonderful food and drink. The feedback and response so far has been incredible and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to experience Olive Tree Leeds.”
