Care Providers' Voice NEL Triumphs at the Great British Care Awards
In recognition of dedication and service, Care Providers' Voice North East London (CPV NEL) has been honoured with the prestigious “Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award” at the Great British Care Awards, London region. Directors are Tayvanie Nagendran, Mike Armstrong, John Timbs and Pooja Barot; all providers providing care and support services in North East London.
This accolade celebrates the exceptional contributions of CPV NEL in revolutionising the relationship between health and social care in the region and the vision for social care to be an equitable partner. Tayvanie Nagendran, Co-Chair at for CPV NEL, expressed appreciation to all the providers who have joined as members and supported the CPV vision: “In North East London, we have over 450 registered members who are dedicated social care providers, encompassing care homes, home care, supported living, and day opportunities. It is with thanks to them and our partners for their support that we have been recognised.”
CPV NEL’s commitment to celebrating all that is great about social care and working with those across health and social care to improve services for those it serves is clear to see. “We are in conversations with other areas in London about how CPV can work in partnership to develop a more effective and efficient system where social care providers are equitable partners in the future of social care.”
Judges felt the organisation stood out as winners based on the organisations influential advocacy across local authorities across North East London bringing the perspectives and needs of social care providers to the forefront of policy-making marked them as leaders in the sector.
Their strategic integration in health and social care and active participation in the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) demonstrated their commitment to integrating social and healthcare services, a critical factor in their recognition.
Also, CPV Directors hold the only three Care and Clinical Pathway Lead roles in the London specifically for social care providers, highlighting their unparalleled leadership and innovation in the field.
Their role as a strategic partner for the GLA-funded Social Care Hub was lauded for supporting new entrants into social care jobs, showcasing CPV NEL’s dedication to workforce development.
Their partnership with Grey Matter Learning, leading to 50% of the social care workforce in funding boroughs receiving standardised care and training, was seen as a critical step in enhancing the quality of care across the region.
The creation of over 580 job opportunities, half of which were for new sector entrants, was a notable achievement, reflecting CPV NEL’s commitment to expanding and strengthening the social care workforce.
These achievements collectively contributed to CPV NEL’s recognition as a trailblazer in the social care sector. Their forward-thinking approach and collaborative spirit have been instrumental in shaping a more effective, inclusive, and efficient social care system in North East London and potentially beyond.
Care Providers’ Voice is a free hub that works to create a strong network of care providers in North East London to create a better environment for the care sector. Its focus is on developing collaborative partners, a valued workforce, and making a difference to people’s lives.
