Metrocentre announces opening for award-winning local Greek street food vendor
Popular independent Greek street food vendor, Acropolis, is now open in upper Blue Mall at Gateshead’s Metrocentre.
Acropolis brings its authentic Greek flavours to Metrocentre customers, from classic chicken gyros and souvlaki to fried halloumi bites, loaded fries and some exciting new dishes.
Since Acropolis was founded in 2016, the business has rapidly expanded and is now serving its mouthwatering Greek food at venues and pop-ups throughout the North East of England.
Ben Cox of Sovereign Centros, Senior Asset Manager for Metrocentre, commented: “We’re always looking for ways to expand our food and beverage offering so we’re delighted to welcome the extremely popular Acropolis and bring a taste of Greece to Metrocentre. We’re confident this new arrival will be a huge hit with shoppers and staff alike.
“Acropolis is one of 16 new brands who have opened in the centre over the last year. They have been joined in the Blue Mall by Julian Charles Home, a new store for Collectables and a newly upsized Durham Bed Centre.”
Filip Tachan of Acropolis added: “Having opened up just before Christmas we have had a fantastic couple of weeks. Our authentic Greek flavours are proving to be a hit with shoppers and we are delighted with the feedback so far.”
