Highly experienced surveyor joins leading consultancy's infrastructure team in Stafford

A highly experienced chartered surveyor has joined a leading property consultancy’s infrastructure team as it looks to progress major projects in the West Midlands and Cheshire.

David Kydd, who has been an RICS qualified surveyor since 1984, has joined Fisher German’s Stafford office as a new partner, where he will be leading a team of six in its infrastructure services team.

David will be acting on behalf of clients to negotiate with landowners affected by utilities and infrastructure projects in and around Stafford, as well as Fisher German’s offices in Chester, Knutsford, and Worcester.

He joins Fisher German after a long career in surveying, with roles at Cluttons and Savills before he was invited to manage the Carrington Family estates in Buckinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

David later helped run MMA mainly working for the Environment Agency, before selling it in 2013.

Following further compulsory purchase work for Dalcour Maclaren, Gateley Hamer and Meller Speakman involving HS2, David joined Fisher German after the northern leg of the high-speed line was terminated.

He will primarily work on behalf of clients in the water industry looking to acquire land for capital schemes, providing advice around surveying and valuation.

He said: “Having been in the industry for around 40 years, I knew Fisher German had an excellent reputation and I knew it would be a fantastic opportunity to join a top name.

“It’s great to be joining a bigger firm once again after having worked for smaller firms and running my own business for a time. I’m looking forward to being part of a multi-disciplinary company and helping Fisher German support their clients to complete a range of major infrastructure projects.

“Ensuring a careful and fair negotiation between infrastructure providers and landowners during the early part of a major project is crucial to get them completed efficiently, and I cannot wait to be involved with the projects for Fisher German’s clients.”
