Festival Place welcomes Chopstix, set to be joined by upsized Festival Street Kitchen
Sovereign Centros has announced that Chopstix, the pan-Asian noodle bar, has opened at Festival Place, one of the UK’s top 25 retail and leisure destinations. Chopstix will be joined by street food operator, Festival Street Kitchen, which is upsizing into the centre.
Having opened adjacent to Pret A Manger, Chopstix delivers its fresh pan-Asian inspired menu, spotlighting a range of noodle-based dishes including Firecracker Chicken, Salt ‘N’ Pepper Chicken, and Caramel Drizzle Chicken in a 2,490 sq ft unit, with space for 54 diners. The largest Asian-inspired quick-serve restaurant chain in the UK, Chopstix Festival Place marks a Basingstoke-first for the brand, featuring its quick-access casual dining format and signature red and green design accents throughout.
Relocating to an upsized space within the centre is Festival Place favourite, Festival Street Kitchen. Formerly based on Festival Square, the popular operator will be moving its street food-inspired concept to a 4,523 sq ft unit, opening opposite recent additions Kokoro and Café Giardino. With seating for 82 visitors, Festival Street Kitchen will continue to offer its regularly refreshed menu, using locally sourced, fresh ingredients and featuring favourites such as its Big Pan Burritos and FSK Quesadillas.
Poppy Radford, Asset Manager at Sovereign Centros, commented: “Festival Place continues to establish itself as Basingstoke’s go-to hub for diverse, all-day dining options, and the commitment of popular operators like Chopstix and Festival Street Kitchen is evidence of this. Having already welcomed Chopstix, and supporting the growth of a local operator in Festival Street Kitchen is a sign of where we want to take Festival Place, delivering a bigger and better experience to its visitors, incorporating ever-popular national names as well as community hero brands.”
Rob Burns, Marketing Director for Chopstix, added: “Festival Place is home to over 200 premier retailers, and we’re delighted that we can provide a brand-new dining option for shoppers, visitors, and locals alike. We’re so excited to have opened our doors, allowing customers to get a taste of some truly delicious, Pan-Asian cuisine. Bringing a new Chopstix to Basingstoke is a fantastic opportunity, both for us, as we create 20 jobs in the local area, and for our customers, who are invited to visit on opening day and beyond for a taste of the delicious and diverse dishes that Chopstix has to offer.”
The news of Chopstix’s opening and Festival Street Kitchen’s relocation marks an exciting start to the year for Festival Place, following a busy 2023 where the destination welcomed UK luggage retailer, Baggage World, and community favourite, Wenzel’s Bakery.
