North West law firm celebrates 10-year anniversary following rapid growth period
Primas Law, a North West based commercial law firm, marks their 10th year in business in 2024, following an ‘impressive’ growth trajectory.
From having around 100 clients in its first year of trading, Primas now boasts thousands of commercial clients, including some of the region’s most well-known companies and brands.
The firm first opened in January 2014 with its founder, Adam Kerr. The past 10 years has seen the firm experience rapid expansion, with the team now comprising 17 Partners and over 55 staff across four office locations: most recently expanding into Liverpool operating out of the ‘iconic’ Royal Liver Building.
Primas’s acquisition of law firm Freeman Fisher in 2019 was also a significant milestone for Primas, expanding its presence in Manchester and advancing its corporate and commercial service offering in the city, headed up by Head of Corporate, Gary Black.
More recent expansion has also included opening a new office based in Liverpool’s Royal Liver Building, alongside the firm’s existing locations in Cheshire and Manchester city centre, further bolstered by a number of strategic hires who have deep-rooted connections with the Liverpool region.
Managing Partner, Adam Kerr, commented: “When setting up the firm, I wanted us to be different: to engage with our clients on a more personal level than our industry is typically known for, without compromising on the quality of our service provision. Ten years on, I feel we have achieved this and much more.
“There are so many milestones when reflecting on the past decade: Simon Baxter joining in 2015 to get our real estate team set-up; followed by Gary Black in 2019 to really push our corporate offering on. Each new office opening were also seminal moments for the business.
“Then there was our Lexcel recognition (a Law Society accreditation for excellence which only about 16 per cent of firms in the country have) as well as superb rankings in both Legal 500 and Chambers.
“We also have a number of the team that have been with us for a long time, and it’s brilliant to see people develop. We’ve only had two lawyers leave us in the last 4 years which is a particular source of pride.”
“2023 was a huge year for us in terms of high-profile cases and expansion across the North-West. Despite challenging economic conditions more generally, we have bold plans for the next three years. Everyone at Primas is excited to see what the future holds as the firm looks to be even bolder in its development plans.”
