Actalis (Aruba Group) partners with Tucows Domains for the international resale of SSL certificates
The collaboration marks an important step in Actalis' internationalisation strategy, which aims to expand and consolidate the marketing of SSL certificates beyond European borders
Actalis - Europe's leading Certification Authority and part of the Aruba Group - announces a new partnership with Tucows Domains, the world's largest wholesale domain registrar for the resale of SSL certificates.
Through this partnership, Actalis’ SSL certificates – a member of the CAB Forum and qualified operator according to the eIDAS regulation for the provision of certificate services - will also be available through Tucows Domains' reseller platform, OpenSRS. This will enable the sale of SSL outside national and European borders, expanding the market.
Actalis’ solutions are characterised by their flexibility and ability to adapt to the specific needs of their customers, guaranteeing full customer satisfaction for customised solutions. The company also emphasises its commitment to the highest security and privacy standards, especially in light of the new eIDAS 2.0 regulation, which highlights the security of online transactions and the need to use qualified certificates to guarantee the authenticity and integrity of electronic information.
"We are particularly proud of this partnership, which will make it possible to have domains with Actalis SSL certificates available through Tucows Domains' simple and intuitive white-label platform,” commented Giorgio Girelli, General Manager of Actalis. “Through the partnership we have the opportunity to offer our SSL certificates and state-of-the-art digital security solutions to an even larger international audience, with the aim of building a solid and reliable network of business relations beyond Europe."
In coming months, the partnership will be extended to include the resale of QWAC (Qualified Website Authentication Certificate) certificates, which certify the identity of a service provider in Europe, in accordance with eIDAS guidelines. The certificates also guarantee end-to-end encryption, supporting more secure online communications.
SSL certificates serve both to authenticate the identity of a website and to encrypt information sent and received by the server. They are therefore crucial for transmitting information securely and protecting data from fraud, identity theft, and phishing. Installing a SSL server certificate on a website enables the TLS (Transport Layer Security) protocol, which guarantees the security of online transactions. With the TLS mechanism in place, two security mechanisms are enabled: secure channel, which ensures that all data transferred between the website and the end user is encrypted, and server authentication, meaning the user can verify the authenticity of a website and the identity of the organisation managing it.
This is a step further for Actalis in its path towards internationalisation. With over twenty years as a Certification Authority, Actalis aims to expand the provision of its certified services and consolidate the marketing of SSL certificates globally.
