National award for Stafford motor mechanic manager
Kelly Blunden, Workshop Controller at Bristol Street Motors Stafford Ford has been honoured with a prestigious Vertu Motors plc 2023 CEO Management Award.
Kelly, who has worked at the dealership for just under ten years, graduating from Service Advisor to Senior Service Advisor to now running the service department, has been named Workshop Controller of the Year.
The awards acknowledge colleagues who have performed exceptionally well and delivered the highest levels of leadership throughout the year.
Nominations are made by Operational Directors to the plc Board, which selects the winner of each category.
Kelly’s nomination noted that she ‘approaches every day with enthusiasm, and with a smile on her face. You can feel the impact of her personality across the entire service department. Technician turnover in her dealership is non-existent. Frankly, this is down to the great atmosphere she has created in the workshop. We have no doubt that she will continue to develop her career into a great Service Manager.’
Like all the winners, Kelly received a phone call from the Chief Executive, Robert Forrester, to congratulate her on the achievement, to thank her for her commitment to delivering results for the business and for the work she has undertaken throughout the year.
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors plc, said: “Since stepping up to this role, Kelly has developed a reputation for delivering ahead of target, and for delivering great customer satisfaction by ensuring the technicians get the job right first time. Kelly works very closely with her team; communicating effectively, supporting and coaching every colleague to create the capacity to deliver results. She has created a stable and well performing department. During 2023, Kelly’s commitment to growing the capability of the department has been exceptional.
“She exemplifies our Values and I am delighted we have been able to recognise her talent, hard work and dedication to her job and her team.”
Kelly Blunden said: “I am delighted to have won this award, but we are a team and it’s the whole team’s performance that has seen the department succeed in 2023. We are only as strong as our weakest link, and I am so proud of every single member of the workshop. We all aim to do the job to the best of our ability every single time a vehicle rolls in.”
