TICA encourages thermal insulation contractors to sign up for fully funded heat networks course
The Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) has announced the launch of the Government-funded Heat Networks Foundation Course.
It has worked with fellow trade bodies the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) and the Manufacturers of Equipment for Heat Networks Association (MEHNA) to produce the fully funded course.
It provides an introduction to heat networks, including a section dedicated to the thermal insulation specification for communal heating systems.
Completion of the course will allow thermal insulation contractors to evidence additional knowledge when bidding for heat network projects.
The online course takes approximately one hour, and 800 fully funded places are available on a first come, first served basis. It is suitable for anyone working within the building engineering services industry, technical or non-technical.
Chris Ridge, TICA’s technical director said: “The Heat Network Foundation Course, which is now live, is the result of a constructive collaboration between BESA, MEHNA and TICA.
“It is designed to ensure that wider stakeholders understand the importance of the thermal insulation of communal services as an enabler of heat network efficiencies.
“It also gives specialist thermal insulation contractors a greater appreciation of the heat network market. It is therefore our hope that this course will provide a foundation for positive engagement between contractors at every tier of the heat network market.”
