New London Living Rent homes announced at ‘pioneering’ East London development
Following a successful first launch last year, L&Q has announced a new phase of London Living Rent (LLR) homes at its L&Q at Beam Park development in Newham, East London.
Over the past 12 months, L&Q has housed 67 new customers at Beam Park, with many of the new LLR homes occupied within just one month of release. Capitalising on the proven popularity of the development, a new selection of one and two-bedroom homes will be available through the Government-backed scheme from 8 March.
A ‘pioneering’ neighbourhood for two transforming London boroughs and a joint venture project with Countryside, Beam Park comprises some 3,000 newbuild homes for both sale and rental.
The development has been designed to incorporate a range of amenities, green spaces and community facilities alongside the new housing. A Sainsbury’s Local was recently unveiled and the Beam Park Health Centre is set to open this spring, with a primary school and nursery scheduled for September.
Andrea Palmer, Head of LLR at L&Q, commented: “Our London Living Rent homes at Beam Park received a high level of interest throughout the whole of last year, by more than 20 times the availability at its peak.
“We’re pleased to be meeting this demand and bringing further apartments to market this spring, enabling further opportunities for customers to secure a home at a rent that will enable them to save towards a deposit and get onto the property ladder.”
Siblings Jemima and Aaron discovered LLR with L&Q at Beam Park, a scheme that would allow them to rent a home together at a discounted rate whilst saving for a deposit, close to their family in East Ham.
Jemima explained: “When I entered my mid-twenties, I was interested in seeing what options were available to me on the London property market. I initially wanted to buy, but realised that for the time being, it just wouldn’t be feasible on my single income.
“Renting somewhere made more sense, however I wanted the security of knowing I wouldn’t have to move anywhere again too quickly.”
