New UK facility boosts data centre production
A major cooling solutions provider has opened a new 14.6 acre manufacturing facility in Bradford, significantly increasing its production capacity for the data centre industry and creating over 200 highly skilled jobs over the next three to five years, including approximately 10 per cent in apprenticeship roles.
Airedale by Modine™ has commenced production two months ahead of schedule, with the Bradford site, which will be the company’s third and largest UK manufacturing plant, focused on manufacturing and testing computer room air handlers and fan wall units.
The company’s existing Leeds facility will now specialise in chiller production, boosting UK production capacity by 150 per cent across both sites. Plans for the Bradford facility also include a state-of-the-art fan wall test centre, allowing for advanced R&D and global customer acceptance tests.
Adrian Trevelyan, managing director at Airedale by Modine, said: “The opening of the new Airedale by Modine manufacturing facility in Bradford marks an important milestone for our organisation.
“With significantly increased capacity, we can offer extensive support to the development strategies of data centre operators, whose growth reflects the unfaltering demand for digital applications in society.”
This move is part of Airedale by Modine’s global growth strategy, fuelled by rising demand for data centre cooling, especially as AI applications increase. The company, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, now operates multiple facilities across the UK, US, Spain, and Canada to support its expanding global customer base.
