Logistics firm expands with South Tyneside move
A leading logistics provider has secured two properties in South Tyneside to support its growing operations.
Whistl Group, a £770+ million logistics and e-fulfilment company that handles over 3.6 billion items annually, has signed leases for Units 1 and 2 at The Bulrushes, Boldon Business Park. This move will relocate the firm’s North East contact services team from Gateshead to 10,000 sq. ft. of modern office space.
The deal, brokered by Naylors Gavin Black on behalf of a private landlord, marks Whistl’s second regional site, complementing its existing operations at Follingsby Park in Washington. Savills acted for Whistl during the transaction.
Garry Wells, property manager at Whistl Group, said: “This new site will enable further growth. It’s a great location and is easily accessible for our colleagues who live in the region.”
Additionally, the ground floor of Unit 3 at The Bulrushes has been let to construction and engineering firm NG Bailey. Three further office units, ranging from 2,765 sq ft to 6,465 sq ft, remain available for lease.
Naylors Gavin Black, part of the Commercial Property Network and SIOR, continues to secure high-profile deals nationwide while bolstering its regional presence.
Chris Pearson, partner at Naylors Gavin Black, added: “Boldon Business Park is a prime location and as popular as ever thanks to its location near the A1 and A19 and continued investment from landlords, including a £5 million cash injection this year from UK Land Estates on a host of improvement projects.”
Cllr Margaret Meling, lead member for economic growth and transport at South Tyneside Council, added: “We are delighted to welcome these new businesses into the borough, taking advantage of our prime North East location and commercial property offer.”
