RWO expands geotechnical team with senior and graduate hires

North East engineering consultancy RWO has strengthened its geotechnical department with two appointments, responding to growing demand for its expertise.

Neil Jones, a chartered engineer and geologist with over 35 years of experience, has joined as associate director at RWO’s Stokesley office. He will oversee geotechnical design solutions for major housebuilders and developers, ensuring technical compliance and driving new business development.

Recent University of South Wales graduate Daniel Tansley has also joined as a graduate geologist. He will support a variety of projects, from geohazard assessments to ground investigations, under senior staff supervision.

Department head and director Chris Rudd said: “We are rapidly building an experienced and dedicated geotechnical team and Neil and Dan will be a big addition to this. 

“Neil’s geotechnical design, industry experience and proven mentoring skills make him an invaluable addition to our exceptional team.

“With comprehensive ground investigation skills and expertise, we look forward to his contributions in continuing to elevate our capabilities across the UK.”

The appointments reflect RWO’s continued success, working with clients such as Persimmon Homes North East, Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson Homes, Vistry (North East & Yorkshire) and York-based Mulgrave Properties, as well as RWO geotechnical’s first involvement in the Teesworks Freeport development and the data centre sector.

The geotechnical department has achieved rapid growth, expecting £700,000 in sales by year-end and targeting £1 million in revenues by 2026.
