Marrtree starts work on 100-job business hub
Around 100 jobs are set to be created at a £3.5 million business hub.
Marrtree Investments has begun work on a 40,000sq ft site at Calder Park, near Wakefield.
The venture will include warehouse, industrial and trade counter space across nine units of between 3500sq ft and 5000sq ft.
And bosses say the hub – which they say provides potential for around 100 jobs – is already proving popular, with “excellent levels of interest”.
Newcastle-based STP Construction is acting as main contractor on the scheme, with the Leeds offices of Savills and GV & Co working as letting agents.
William Marshall, director at Harrogate-based Marrtree Investments, which was founded in the 1940s and covers sectors including commercial and residential property, quarrying and forestry, said: “Calder Park is a really great location.
“It has fantastic communication links, situated right next to the M1 motorway, and the site is also served by regular public transport and safe cycle routes from Wakefield town centre.”
The endeavour comes after Marrtree completed a £4.5 million, 27,000sq ft business park and Starbucks drive-thru at Clifton Moor, on the outskirts of York, earlier this year.
