Retirement village names new hospitality director
Middleton Hall Retirement Village in Darlington has welcomed Adam Wardale as its new director of hospitality.
Adam, who joined the Middleton St George-based retirement village in December, brings over 13 years of experience in the hospitality sector, including a transformative tenure as general manager at York’s Middletons Hotel.
A member of the Institute of Hospitality, Adam has championed community engagement and industry innovation throughout his career, earning recognition as Visit England’s ‘Unsung Hero’ in 2022.
Adam said: "I wasn’t actively looking for a new role, but when I learned more about the position and the potential at Middleton Hall Retirement Village, it resonated deeply with me.
“The focus on community and people-centred values really stood out.
“As soon as I drove up the entrance drive, I could see myself being part of this every day.
“The team was so welcoming, and the culture here immediately clicked. I could really see how my background and experience could make a positive impact.
“Business is about more than just making money - it’s also important to give back and make a difference where you can.”
Suzanne Graham, Middleton Hall Retirement Village managing director, added: “We are looking forward to the fresh perspective and energy Adam will bring to this new role.
“With his exceptional experience and dedication to enhancing the experience for our residents and visitors, the future of hospitality at Middleton Hall is in excellent hands.”
