Music app hits the right notes for gyms

A Yorkshire-based music streaming app is making waves in the UK fitness industry, offering specifically designed workout tracks to enhance exercise performance.

Pure Energy Music, created by Andy Pickles, provides fitness instructors, gym operators and leisure centres with expertly curated music to optimise workouts.

The app is already in use at more than 450 fitness locations nationwide, including by leading brand Everyone Active.

Backed by a £500,000 investment from Finance Yorkshire’s growth fund, the company will use the cash to “drive the growth and use of the app” by expanding its workforce to match increased demand, creating up to ten new roles.

Andy said: “We see huge potential for the app both in the UK and globally. 

“As a subscription service model, it is more cost effective for fitness and gym operators who would otherwise have to negotiate over music ownership rights.”

Finance Yorkshire’s growth fund forms part of a £50 million initiative supporting SMEs across the region, with additional investment available through its seedcorn and loan funds.
