Exemplar Health Care grows with Durham base
A care home operator has expanded with a 100-job venture.
Exemplar Health Care has opened Laurel Place, in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
The 32-bedroom base will support adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia and neuro and physical disabilities.
Bosses at Rotherham-headquartered Exemplar Health Care say the site, which also features six single occupancy apartments, will provide long-term community care for adults facing prolonged hospital stays.
The home, based on Bishop Auckland’s Gudmunsen Avenue, includes an activities hub, sensory bathrooms, therapy room, beauty salon and visitors' suite.
Luke Skelton, Laurel Place home manager, said: "I am overjoyed to be opening this new home for the benefit of the local community.”
Lindsay Holcroft, Exemplar Health Care commissioning manager, added: “Our newest home is a testament to our dedication to offering superior nursing care to adults with complex needs.
“It will make it possible for people who require complex care to live and receive complex nursing care closer to their friends and family.”
