Family-run Mansell 'builds for future' with expansion

A second-generation construction firm says it is building for growth with a headquarters move.

Mansell Building Solutions is switching to a 45,000sq ft warehouse and office base.

Bosses Angela and Stephanie Mansell say the site on Oldham Broadway Business Park, in Chadderton, will allow the business to better “play its part in delivering a regional target of 75,000 new homes per year”.

They add it will enable the business – presently based in Horwich, on the outskirts of Bolton – to service sites across Wigan, Manchester, Trafford, Salford and Stockport with greater ease.

The firm sits on a number of frameworks, including Great Places Housing Group's Innovation Chain North, and is part of a group of consultants and contractors delivering new homes needed to meet the Government’s 1.5 million target. 

Angela, managing director, said: “Our framework appointments and multiple contract awards for projects spread across five Greater Manchester boroughs necessitate a facility that better serves our growing needs.

“Oldham is a forward-thinking borough under female leadership, with a supportive council that openly and actively welcomes business growth.

“We are only too pleased to make it our new home.”

Councillor Arooj Shah, leader of Oldham Council, said: “The firm is a real pioneer in the construction industry.

“This news is a real boost for the local economy, and we welcome Mansell and its employees to the borough.”

The company’s move has been supported by Upturn Enterprise.

Anwar Ali, chief executive, added: “SMEs, especially those that are family run, have a unique offer, and I’m really pleased they’ll be coming to Oldham. 

“The relocation will give the firm a fresh start to build on super strong foundations.”
