Mia Rogers pens rookie deal with Durham
Durham Cricket has secured the signing of wicket-keeper batter Mia Rogers on a two-year rookie deal.
The 23-year-old, who has progressed through the Berkshire pathway, joins on a contract starting March 1.
Rogers made her professional debut in 2020 with Sunrisers, making eight List A and 12 T20 appearances.
Currently studying at Durham University, where she captains the women’s team, Rogers has also represented Berkshire, Kent and the MCC.
She said: “I am beyond excited to be joining the new tier one set up at Durham.
“It is an absolute dream come true to sign my first full-time professional cricket contract.
“This is a really special moment and I am really looking forward to the season getting started.”
Marcus North, Durham’s director of cricket, added: “We are pleased to have strengthened our squad with the addition of Mia.
“She has been around the group for a short while and has fitted into the squad very well.
“Mia will add depth to our batting group, offers competition behind the stumps, and we look forward to seeing how she goes.”
