Waterman expands sustainability team

Engineering and environmental consultancy Waterman has strengthened its sustainability team with the appointment of James Barker.

James joins from Hydrock and will lead the firm’s net-zero sustainability services in the North from its Leeds office. 

With over a decade of experience in the built environment industry, he specialises in whole life carbon assessments, energy modelling and building certifications.

His portfolio includes major residential, commercial, industrial and hotel projects. 

Notable work includes supporting Travelodge with ESG-aligned property acquisitions and contributing to key schemes such as the Yorkshire Post redevelopment and Leonardo Buildings in Leeds.

James’ appointment reflects Waterman’s continued growth in sustainability and commitment to helping clients achieve their net-zero goals.
