Ryder delight at Nexans energy sector deal
An engineering consultancy has picked up a three-year energy sector deal.
Ryder has secured a place on a Nexans framework.
Officials say the business will support cable system maker Nexans’ global offshore wind projects, providing services across areas including power line burial risk assessment and installation analysis.
Ryder is a subsidiary of Newton Aycliffe-headquartered marine engineer Tekmar Group.
Richard Turner, Tekmar Group chief executive, said: “We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with Nexans.
“This opportunity reflects our expertise and ability to deliver high-quality engineering support.
“Our skilled team is committed to providing innovative, high-quality solutions that support the success of Nexans’ projects.”
The agreement comes just days after Tekmar Energy announced a £5 million contract, which will see it support a UK-based offshore wind farm project.
The County Durham-based firm will design and supply a cable protection system and supporting apparatus for the venture, which bosses say represents a “landmark” development.
