Six-figure crane 'will take JK Lifting to new heights'

A lifting and testing firm is aiming for new heights following a £150,000 investment.

JK Lifting has installed a ten-tonne overhead crane at its North Tyneside base.

Bosses say the machinery will help meet client demand and strengthen plans to hit £10 million turnover by 2030.

They also plan to create jobs across its engineering and operations divisions.

The investment comes after the company last year opened a base, known as Lift Point House, on Killingworth’s Camperdown Industrial Estate.

James Bright, managing director, said the new apparatus will provide fresh drive to the business, which recently secured regional and national contracts across the offshore, marine, renewables, construction, engineering and manufacturing sectors, and counts Equinor and PFC Marine as clients.

He added: “Moving into Lift Point House has been a major turning point for our business, empowering us to expand operations in inspections and compliance for our clients across a number of sectors.

“The investment we have made in our facilities, particularly our overhead crane, reflects our continued commitment to strengthening our capabilities, increasing our headcount and growing our roster of clients.”

Founded in 1983 by John Kesson, the firm was bought by James Bright in 2019, with a marine base launched at Port of Blyth in 2022.
