Legal finance expert joins judging panel
A North East legal finance specialist has been appointed as a judge for the 2025 Northern Law Awards.
Joe Brown, legal account manager at Robson Laidler Accountants, will help select the winner of the Law Firm of the Year (six-plus partners) category, as the firm partners with the awards for the second consecutive year.
The ceremony, which recognises legal excellence and achievements across the region, takes place on June 12 at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead.
Joe, who co-leads Robson Laidler’s legal accounting team, supports law firms with financial management, tax planning and SRA compliance.
He said: “It’s a privilege to be part of the judging panel.
“It’s inspiring to witness first-hand the dedication and effort behind the success of these large firms, and to celebrate those accomplishments alongside them.”
Dorothy Inverarity, director of Echo Events, which owns and runs both the Northern Law Awards and the North East Accountancy Awards, added: “We are thrilled to have Robson Laidler on board for a second year.
“Having Joe’s expertise on the judging panel is a great benefit to us, adding an accountancy perspective to support the other more legal focused judges.
“Finding mutually beneficial partnerships like this is key to the strength of the awards as we enter their tenth anniversary.”
