Funding boosts student Sienna's streetwear dream
A student is kicking on with a streetwear venture after receiving a £450 boost.
Sienna Zdubek has been backed by Barnsley College Enterprising Futures fund and Barnsley College Futurepreneurs (BC Futurepreneurs).
The Barnsley College Sixth Form learner says the cash will help create clothing prototypes and develop designs for production.
She received £250 from Barnsley College Enterprising Futures and £200 from BC Futurepreneurs, which helps young innovators access funding and develop business ideas.
Sienna, who is studying A Levels in business, economics and English language and literature, said: “BC Futurepreneurs is a fantastic opportunity for young people interested in business but who don’t know where to start.
“It helped me refine my streetwear brand concept, focusing on market entry, customer engagement and securing manufacturing, which is one of the biggest challenges.”
Lee Perks, Barnsley College enterprise team leader, added: “Sienna was part of our first BC Futurepreneurs group, and it was inspiring to see her embrace every challenge.
“Sienna’s journey with us doesn’t stop here; she will soon participate in our ‘Dragons’ Den'-style event, pitching her business to a panel of investors to secure further funding.
“I'm excited to support her next steps.”
