Fairgrieve ramps up firewall bracket production
A North East manufacturer is set to scale up production of an acclaimed fire safety product.
Sunderland-based Fairgrieve Compression Moulding will begin producing 1000 Matrix Firewall Bracket Bases per day next month to fulfil a new contract, with bosses saying they “expect more orders to follow” as demand from the construction sector rises.
The product, designed to withstand extreme heat, fire and smoke for up to two hours, has earned industry acclaim and was named among the British Plastic Federation’s Top 15 Plastic Innovations of 2024.
Barry Davidson, managing director, said: “This is a product businesses working in the construction sector now seem to have become very aware of.
“We are getting lots of enquiries, and customers are coming to us to find out more.
“It is now a proven product, used in its thousands in the construction sector, and for which we have had repeat orders from leading construction companies.
“We’ve recently provided samples for testing to a number of other potential new customers, and we expect more orders to follow.”
