Story Homes set to revive former tile factory site
A housing development is set to transform an industrial site.
Story Homes has secured planning approval to build 60 properties on the former Marley Tiles factory base, near Ebchester, Northumberland.
The development will feature four to six-bedroom properties, green spaces, a village green, cycle hub and a mobility hub.
Officials say the scheme will also provide more than £1.2 million in community contributions, funding improvements to education, transport and open spaces, alongside a £300,000 bus service subsidy.
Richard Swann, North East senior planning manager at Story Homes, said: “We are delighted Northumberland County Council has resolved to approve our plans for 60 new homes.
“This development is not only a significant investment in new homes for Northumberland, but also a thoughtful approach to enhancing the local community.
“This is a key site for Story Homes as we continue to focus on growth throughout the North East, and we look forward to construction works beginning and seeing our plans coming to life.”
