HLA Group on rise with £1.2 million baker work
A mechanical services firm has risen to the challenge with a £1.2 million bakery contract.
HLA Group has designed, built and installed a dust extraction system for the “UK’s largest high street bakery chain”.
The Boldon-headquartered firm carried out £1.1 million work at a Newcastle factory and a £100,000 project at a Leeds production base.
And bosses say the business is now in talks to extend the work to additional sites.
They add the system has cut cleaning costs and increased energy efficiency, revealing the project included nearly 30 designers, builders, fabricators, installers, pipefitters and electricians.
Michael Oliver and Lee Kirby, HLA Group lead local exhaust ventilation designers, managed the scheme.
Michael said: “The client has expressed very clear satisfaction with the improvements we made.
“Our system not only meets COSHH regulations but also reduces energy costs by recycling both air and heat, eliminating the requirement for an additional heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.”
Lee added: “Not only does the system protect the health of operatives, it also helps employers create a cleaner environment.”
HLA Group employs 130 staff and provides mechanical, air conditioning, climate control and temperature control support across sectors including construction, education, hospitality, manufacturing and retail.
It has further offices in Carlisle, Leeds and Middlesbrough, and runs a fabrication base in Seaham, east Durham.
