McBryde & Co secures 'milestone' B Corp status
A communications agency has secured a renowned industry standard.
McBryde & Co has been awarded B Corp status.
Bosses say the “huge milestone” recognises the Newcastle-based firm’s “dedication to transparency, accountability and making a positive impact”.
The firm impressed assessors with its Living Wage employer status and embedding of sustainability into operations.
Rachel McBryde, founder and director, said: “We’ve worked towards certification for many months because we believe businesses should be a force for good.
“We wanted to be part of a wider movement that prioritises people and the planet, not just profit.
“This certification reinforces our commitment to running a business that has a positive impact.”
Jodie Balmer, the firm’s client services director, holds a CIPR specialist diploma in sustainability communications and played a key role in leading the certification process.
She said: “We’ve always been a business that values transparency and integrity, and becoming a B Corp reinforces that commitment.
“This is definitely only the beginning for us; we want to continue to find ways to improve and push for positive change.”
Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, the not-for-profit organisation behind the B Corp movement, added: “Welcoming McBryde & Co is an exciting moment for the communications sector.”
