Mayor launches public Question Time events
Tees Valley residents can now quiz their mayor in new monthly Question Time events.
Starting May 15, Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen will host a live one-hour Q&A on BBC Radio Tees, along with two in-person events each year, chaired by an independent journalist.
These free events will allow direct public engagement on local developments such as Teesworks and Teesside International Airport’s expansion.
Mayor Houchen said: “Huge things are happening across Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool, from creating jobs, transforming our transport networks to supporting our incredible businesses.
“I know people always want to know more about what we are doing and what’s coming next, so I can’t wait for these Question Time events where the public can quiz me and get the answers they are looking for.”
In addition, a proposal to provide public recordings of meetings of the Tees Valley Combined Authority cabinet, overview and scrutiny, audit and governance and transport committee meetings has also been approved.
