‘Much-needed’ care home underway at Integra 61
Work has started on a Durham care facility.
North Bay Developments has begun construction of a 73-bedroom residential care home at Integra 61, Citrus Durham’s 205-acre £400 million scheme near Bowburn.
Operated by Marton Care, officials say the home will create around 70 jobs and sit alongside new housing.
Expected to complete in late 2026, the project is part of Integra 61’s wider plans, which include homes, a hotel and retail units.
David Cullingford, head of development at real estate investment and development company Citrus Group, which runs Integra 61, said: “We are delighted to welcome Marton care on site to deliver this facility to the local area.
“The new care home is a great step forward in providing leading care to those who need it, as well much-needed job creation in the region.
“The Integra 61 scheme aims to provide a development to occupiers that is both varied and well connected, as well as supporting the local environment and driving forward employment opportunities.”
Adam Hartley, director of developments at North Bay Developments, added: “We’re thrilled to finally get our care home development underway in such a fantastic location.
“We are committed to creating first-class environments and meeting the very highest standards for our homes and residents.
“This scheme will provide much-needed care accommodation to the local community and generate employment opportunities in the region.”
