Prior to joining Apigee, Bryan was the vice president of corporate strategies at Greenberg Quinlan Rosner, one of the world’s premier research and strategic consulting firms, specializing in political polling and campaign strategy worldwide. Previously, Bryan spent 10 years at Microsoft as the company’s first Director of Open Source Strategy. In this role he drove development of the first company-wide position on open source software, including alignment across senior executive communications and significant product group strategy commitments. Industry observers such as Matthew Aslett of analyst firm 451 Group described results of Bryan’s work as “a fundamental shift in the rules of engagement” that “proves…that the war between proprietary and open source is over.” A recognized leader in synthesizing primary research and business-case analysis into effective strategic positioning, Bryan was named one of the Top 20 Storytellers at Microsoft in 2008.
