Ian Baxter is a former Linklaters finance lawyer who left to become Managing Director and co-owner of RH Freight, which he built up and ran successfully from 1995 until its sale in 2011 to Kuehne & Nagel, for more than £60m. Following the sale, Ian spent some time away from business, travelling with his wife and children, before deciding to return to the industry to form Baxter Freight in January 2014. Baxter Freight is one of the UK's fastest growing logistics businesses, bringing a fresh approach to the industry. Every customer has their own account manager who provides a single point of contact for all their logistics needs. Baxter Freight offers solutions for international, European and domestic freight by road, sea, air or rail, from full loads to single pallets, cartons or packages, from standard to express. As a non-asset based company, they work with the best companies from across the market place rather than trying to shoe-horn customers into using their own products. This means they have capacity available even when times are busy and can match the customer's exact requirements to the right service and cost option for them. The company currently has 42 employees, aiming for 100 by mid-2015, and after just two months of active sales, they have already won almost 200 clients, with further exciting partnerships in the pipeline. Baxter Freight expects to be a £100m turnover business by 2017. Follow Ian on Twitter @BaxterFreight @IanBaxter66
